Nomura is killed by Nari's titan for nothing but poorly executed shock factor and her sacrifice isn't even mentioned later. Moving on, after Strickler is killed Barbara still sends Jim, her only son and the only family she has left back into the fight with no problem. Nobody gave a damn if Douxie was alright after literally being tortured. What if it had taken more than three seconds? Would they have still stood around and watched their pain for, let's say, an hour? Or 2? And then when it's over all they care about is what Nari said when she was in Douxie's body. And even if that hadn't happened, his friends should still worry about him for obvious reasons! The Order is extremely dangerous and cruel! Later on we watch both Douxie and Nari being brutally tortured and everyone present just stands around waiting for it to end. Last time Douxie got in the Order's way he was killed. I mean, I know it's a good thing they didn't take Nari but still.

Douxie got taken by the Order and Toby was literally like 'awesome sauce!'.

Emotion: Many times throughout the entire movie the characters just didn't seem to be truly awake to the situation around them. INSTEAD we got literally every other character sidelined and rudely nerfed because apparently only Jim can save us all, only Jim can defeat the bad guys, only Jim can be a true hero.Ģ-Lack. I'm not all that hugely bothered by characters like Varvatos, Eli, Steve, Blinky and even Claire and Toby ect ect to have more of a supporting role in the story but I'm truly disappointed with what they did to Douxie, Aja and Krel who were supposed to be just as primary as Jim. I expected the other Guardians of Arcadia (characters we have accompanied and loved for five years) to be treated with respect by their own creators and be allowed to shine and show all the development they went through in their own shows. Well, I expected the movie to be like the other 3 installments in this franchise where all characters play an important and significant role to the plot even if they are not THE main character. 'Oh but Zoe, he's the main character! What did you expect?' I saw someone elsewhere in the internet pointing out that honestly the whole film seemed more like some crappy fanfiction by an amateur writer who got grumpy that not EVERYONE picked Jim as their favourite character. completely disregarding the fact that 3below and Wizards have the same importance as Trollhunters to the franchise.

Not many people have pointed this out (that I know of), but the movie's first and very iminent issue is its very title. It's about the entire bloody movie as a whole. And it's not just about that thing we're supposed to take for an ending. There isn't one single true TOA fan out there who didn't feel AT LEAST mildy insulted by this film. Get ready for a long ride! (warning: spoilers, long post, rant, highly based on personal opinions).ĩ9% of the TOA fandom can agree that Trollhunters: Rise of The Titans was a horrible movie.
